Social Media In Today’s World

The role of social media has evolved from being a mere source of entertainment to becoming a powerful medium for self-expression where people can build relationships with others and stay informed on current trends.

Its impact goes beyond personal connections, as businesses and organisations began integrating social media into their marketing strategies to promote products and attract customers.

However, even though social media is becoming more prevalent globally, there are still a few instances where its usage can do more harm than good. Knowing this implication, we are responsible for preventing it by practising precautionary measures

When used intelligently, social media can bring loads of success in making anyone’s life better. It has endless possibilities, as users can use these platforms for various purposes. Social media will continue to affect society whether used for communicating, interacting, learning, or marketing.

The Must-Try Social Media Apps

While most people are familiar with the top social media platforms that dominate the landscape, several other apps and platforms offer unique features and experiences.

Here are some of those social media apps worth exploring:

BeReal

Why not take a break from the pressure of social media? BeReal is one of the hottest apps this year because it empowers the real you by randomly sending a notification.

Clicking this notification will give the user 2 minutes to share a photo of their actions. It is an excellent platform for digital authenticity that everyone should try!

Hive Social

Hive Social is a Twitter alternative that allows users to share updates in text, photo, or video form.

It is a typical plug-and-play app emphasising the “simplicity of social media.”

It also provides a chronological feed that offers a more refreshing perspective than other social media sites.

Mastodon

People began looking for alternatives when Elon Musk purchased Twitter, and Mastodon was one of them.

It is a decentralised open-source social network with a one-of-a-kind design that enables users to create in-app networks.

Caffeine

Caffeine is just like Twitch but has many other features you can enjoy, such as its streaming software and high-profile entertainment channels.

It also provides a service with zero ads, ensuring you enjoy the broadcast to your heart’s content.

Discord

Discord debuted in 2015 as a niche tool for the gaming community, with features for community management and engagement. Users can also set up chat servers in this app and interact with friends and strangers through text, audio, or video. Now, it is transitioning from a gamer-centric platform to one incorporating businesses and companies.

Lemon8

Lemon8 combines TikTok, Pinterest, and Instagram elements to allow users to showcase their creative selves through photos and videos, like making their own social media scrapbook.

Supernova

Today’s social media platforms contain harmful content.

Twitch

Twitch is one of the best live streaming services, with an easy-to-use interface popular for gamers and streamers.

Its flexibility makes it a perfect social media platform for casual and core users.

Quora

People usually have many questions in mind that you can’t just type in a random search engine. Most likely, you also wouldn’t get the answer you’re seeking in the first place.

Quora is a place where a community of users answers various questions posted by other users. With this setup, users can display their expertise and answer questions in a specific way.

Research has proven that influencer advertising affects the way people buy. Most consumers can follow a path to your brand through social media, while influencers have built up loyal fans because of their authenticity and likability. This combination creates a highly effective customer journey in an honest and authentic way!

Maximising Your ROI with Influencer Marketing

Are you trying to find ways to enhance your ROI by leveraging influencer marketing?

Influencer marketing is a powerful tool that helps you to connect with your customers in ways that traditional marketing methods cannot.

One of the most critical steps is picking the right influencer. Choosing the most relevant influential influencers that represent your business is essential.

Pick influencers with followings inside your target marketplace whose values align with your business. This does not always mean the influencer will have substantial follower numbers – engagement and relevance to your business are two crucial factors that supersede any metric.

It will ensure the content resonates with your target audience instead of hitting uninterested eyes.

Also, ensure that you define specific goals for your influencer marketing campaign. Do you wish to boost sales? Increase the recognition of your brand? Whatever your goals are, make sure they are quantifiable so that you can track the progress.

To maximise the return on investment, you should consider providing discounts or deals to the influencer’s followers. This could motivate customers to buy and allows you to monitor your advertising campaigns’ outcomes.

Not to be left out, but make sure you track your results! Keep in mind the level of engagement of your followers, their conversion rates, and the overall ROI to determine the success of your marketing with influencers.

If you take these methods, you may be on the path to boosting the ROI you earn from influencer marketing.

Influencer advertising has become crucial for any employer seeking to increase its advertising. Social media content creators can interact with audiences in a manner that conventional advertising strategies cannot compete with.

If you’re trying to connect to a new audience, promote a new product, or boost your brand’s popularity, influencer marketing can help you achieve your goals

With the proper strategy, you can achieve mind-blowing results and connect with your target audience meaningfully.

Embrace the rise of influencer marketing, get creative, and watch your business flourish as a result!

The Power Of Video Content For Social Media Management

The Power of Video Content For Social Media Management

The world is rapidly becoming more digital – the way we digest content is steering away from old forms of content and going towards social media. Creating content that fits this new type of consumption and audience can be a difficult challenge, but it should be something that creative marketers thrive in. Social media marketing is something mastered by the most able and savvy marketers out there, for the pure and simple reason that they understand what people want.

As social media has become the key source for entertainment, information, news, and beyond, it has also become a hugely efficient digital marketing platform. The number of social media users continues to skyrocket after it surpassed 4.5 billion users, and this grows alongside an ever-rising amount of consumers buying from their social media platforms. Both B2B and B2C marketers have spotted this trend and jumped on it for campaigns and promotions, seeing more than plentiful results for their businesses.

In 2020, the amount of money spent on social media advertising surpassed $132 billion, showing how critical social media marketing is to businesses both big and small. Even more, interestingly, that number is expected to go past $200 billion in 2024. This shows the influence and growth of social media marketing, and here are the reasons that make it such a key marketing component for a business:

Gets The Audience’s Attention

In today’s world, it has been found that our average attention span is now 8 seconds, making a short social media video perfect for getting someone’s attention – – Unlike a long piece of text or some static piece of artwork, it is easy to consume – it does all the thinking and works for you. More and more of us are actively sitting on our phones and scrolling through Tiktok, Twitter, Instagram, and more – the social media scrolling feed is the perfect place to put some video content and grab a user’s attention.

Video can allow you to get this attention and convey a message through concentrated information – the best social media marketers find the most inventive ways to get this information through to the user whilst keeping their face glued to the screen. You can find so many businesses now using memes, trending Tiktok dances, or parody posts to get attention and advertise their product – and this can be huge corporations too.

Perfect for SEO

If you are doing digital marketing right, you should be making sure all your content is optimised for search – this includes your videos. Social media platforms are quickly becoming the public’s go-to for search, so you need to ensure your content is adequately suited for this. Having your attention-grabbing social media snips is one part, but making sure they get into the trending section is the other.

To make sure the SEO is perfect through your content, keep the headlines gripping and have your descriptions aligned with things that are trending or popular. Adding on relevant hashtags is the other piece to the puzzle, as social media use data analytics to push your content to related users and beyond.

Creates Conversions

Just like with your other marketing channels, social media content will have a purpose behind it. With every quirky, funny, informative, and engaging social media video you will create, you will be encouraging the user to act on it. It could be anything from purchasing a piece of clothing in the small clip to signing up for your email marketing list.

A CTA (Call To Action) in social media marketing is done by getting your viewer to the end of the clip. It is all good to have brilliant content in your social media marketing strategy, but it is equally important to get your audience to convert into successful customers.

Allows For Specialised Messaging

When you engage with your followers on social media through your videos, you will find that it is not too dissimilar to building a relationship with them. The only other marketing strategy comparable to this personal level is email marketing, and even then you still cannot engage the audience the same way you can through a viral social media video.

A successful social media video helps your business tell a story, input a CTA but most importantly leave them wanting more. If you have a social media marketing video that contains something that doesn’t link to the CTA, it should be removed. Efficient social media marketing allows your content to live on for months, whilst still speaking directly to new and old customers.

Be Trendy

Through social media marketing videos, you can almost literally turn your business into trendy. When you create social media content, it has to be relevant and relatable. Social media videos bring your brand to life and give it colour, as well as allow you to join in trending news stories and topics that give your brand a voice.

The best businesses jump on these real-time events to give their brand personality and a voice, which resonates with the average social media user. There are so many hashtags that contain a huge customer base with ranging demographics – positioning your business within these trending spaces can put your brand right in the middle of the conversation.

Gain Engagement Data

For every social media marketing campaign and video you publish, you will find amazingly-detailed analytics which can give you insights into the engagement of your campaign. Regardless of whether your social media videos are organic or paid campaigns, you can look into their conversion rates, engagement, and click-throughs to see how well they did.

This kind of crucial data can help you shape and mould your social media marketing strategy to create the best videos for your audience and beyond. Views are a good indicator of your content being engaging and popular, but the number of comments and click-throughs is a true measure of how well it ranks for engagement.

Roll The Credits

Putting creative and compelling social media videos in your marketing strategy can be a huge game changer for your business. Not only can you build a unique brand and market positioning, but you can use the analytics and data you receive to continue to build.

With a strong digital marketing strategy behind it, social media videos can elevate your business through increased exposure, more conversions, and a stronger brand for your business.

Social Media Is Changing

Social Media is Changing: A New Focus On Original Content

Changes in the world of social media are not news anymore. We see tons of updates every other year. In the last decade alone, we saw unprecedented changes in tools and features on big platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. While it takes time to get used to each change, we can all agree that most of these updates make the platforms better for both users and marketers.

In the usual tradition, social media is changing things up again. What is this new update? How does it affect marketers? What can businesses do to leverage this new change? We provide answers to these and more in this expertly curated guide. Keep reading!

Instagram Update: New Focus On Originality

How often do you repost content on Instagram? No judgement here, we used to do it too. It is a great opportunity to keep your audience engaged, maintain your social media content calendar, and boost your ranking without creating anything. You simply find great content online and share it. That works the magic every time. Well, not anymore.

The new Instagram update is algorithm-based and it is looking to encourage more original content by ignoring re-posted content. The Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, announced the new algorithm change sometime in April. In his tweet, he explained that Instagram now ranks based on originality.

In summary, Instagram ranking algorithm will only reward the effort of the initial creator, not those who shared the content. Although the goal of this update is to encourage and reward creators while also clearing out repetition from users’ feeds, the truth is, this will affect marketers more than the average user.

Social media is changing: What does this mean for marketers?

For marketers, it is safe to say this is both good and bad news. On the one hand, you can no longer boost your page’s ranking with re-posted content. This used to be the deal since it is way easier than creating fresh content from the ground up.

But this is no longer a smart move as Instagram will pay no attention to shared content, hence the need to start creating fresh, original content regularly. True, that sounds like so much work but the good news is that content creators now get full credit for their work. You will agree that someone who went through the trouble of creating content deserves more credit than someone who simply shared the content, right?

This is a good means to get ahead of the competition. Smart marketers who are able to consistently create original content will enjoy increasing ranking for their hard work. You and you alone, not a competitor who simply shared your content.

Long story short, social media is changing really fast. If you are looking to boost your page’s ranking and stay ahead of the competition, you must plan to create original content.

7 Benefits of Creating Original Contents for Your Business

Why should you bother about original content? Why go through all the trouble when you could just steal someone’s content to fill your social media calendar? Here are a few ways original content benefits your business.

Increased trust and credibility

Customers trust custom content more than ads and content shared from other brands. Marketers who produce original content attract more customers than those who rely on ads and re-posted content.

Organic traffic

Social media is changing ranking factors which can affect your traffic. Your content is a great way to draw traffic to your website. If the content is originally yours, you get the opportunity to optimise it to attract massive traffic to your website.

Better customer relationship

Building a good relationship with your audience is a critical part of business growth. While you may think sharing others’ posts is keeping your audience engaged, the truth is customers can tell apart from original content. They connect better with brands that keep it original.

High brand recognition

Another important benefit is brand recognition. Consistently creating exceptional content will increase your brand recognition across the globe.

Makes you a niche leader

With tons of businesses littering the world wide web, customers want to know how much you know before entrusting you with their needs. As social media is changing focus to original content, this gives you an opportunity to show that you are a thought leader in the industry.

Bolster social media engagement

If you want to boost engagement and sharing, you should definitely release original content. This is all the appeal you need to convince your audience to share. Keep it original and genuine.

Increased sales and conversion rate

All of these benefits lead to a higher conversion rate which in turn leads to more sales and revenue for your business.

Social Media Is Changing: 5 Expert Tips to Create Original Contents

Know your audience

If you don’t already recognize your target audience, you have to start there before creating your content. Yes, social media is changing focus to originality but you cannot reach your marketing goal with just about any fresh content. It must be of good quality and relevant to your audience.

A good way to know the quality, demand and relevance is to identify your target audience. Who makes up your audience? What are their needs? What exactly do they want from you?

Offer a solution to their problem

The originality in the content covers the message and the way the message was delivered. The message you are passing across is just as important as the method you are using to deliver the message.

Now that you understand what your audience needs, the next step requires you to create a one-of-a-kind solution. Don’t go ripping off people’s work. Genuinely find a gap to fill and do it with original products or services.

It’s all about storytelling

As I stated above, the message and the method of delivering the message are both important in the concept of originality. With a unique solution for your audience’s needs, the next step involves curating a suitable way to deliver your solution. We find that storytelling is key.

Irrespective of the method you apply, be sure to tell a story. It could be the story of others or your brand’s story. It could also be your personal experience. The goal is to help them relate to the brand and assure them you indeed have a solution.

Show genuine emotion

Another reason storytelling is a sure bet is that it gives you the opportunity to show genuine emotion. Because the truth is sales is all about emotions. You will get no reaction if the content doesn’t move your audience.

Everyone is already on edge with the tons of ads and businesses out to get their money. To stand out now that social media is changing, you must show that you truly care. Show them it’s all about them, not their money.

Use visuals

Although written content holds lots of perks, seasoned marketers understand that visuals are the best way to gain more engagement and leave a lasting memory on your audience.

You can incorporate infographics and videos in your written content or simply stick with video content. Visuals increase the originality of your content exponentially while also helping you connect with your audience at a level written words can never reach.

Original content has always been favoured above others but now social media is changing to focus even more on originality.

This is good news for smart marketers who already invest resources into original work. If you are not one of them, we urge you to avail yourself of these expert tips.

But one thing we can’t take away from these platforms is that they bring people together…lots of people. This is why several businesses are tapping into this great resource for business growth.

Customers are the livewire of any business. Except if you are running a non-profit organization, then you will definitely need sales. Even non-profit organizations need people to interact with. So one way or the other, we need customers to thrive.

Nowadays, attracting customers to your business is a difficult task because of the stiff competition that is prevalent in every niche you turn to. This stiff competition has prompted businesses to adapt. And yes, they are stepping up their marketing by actively promoting their products and services on social media.

Will you be left out? I hope not. It is time for you to Step Up Your Marketing Today.

Continue reading to discover how social media marketing can help your business!

But before I show you how, let me give you the low-down on what social media marketing is.

Social media marketing is the act of developing and distributing strategic content that is aimed at increasing the awareness of your goods and services and sharing them on social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. The developed content must have unique features that make it target-specific because only then will it increase brand awareness and increase conversions.

When we talk about social media marketing, you might not know its true potential, so let’s have a little analytical breakdown of the common social media platforms.

  • Facebook: Facebook has a whopping 2.2 billion users consisting of largely Generation X and Millennials. It is perfect for B2C marketing activity. You can use it mainly for brand awareness and advertising.
  • Twitter: Contrary to what you might think, Twitter has more users than Facebook, with around 335 billion users of the millennial demographic. It is great for B2B and B2C. You can use it for public relations and customer service activity.
  • Instagram: It has around 1 billion users consisting of Millennials. It is great for B2C. You can use it for advertising and for sharing the media-related aspect of your business.
  • LinkedIn: It has 645 million users and the users cuts across baby boomers, Millennials and also Generation X. It is best for B2B, and it caters to employment advertising and business development.
  • YouTube: It has 1.9 billion users of category Generation Z and Millennials. Perfect for B2C and best suited for sharing videos and creating brand awareness.

Do you see enough benefits already or do you need some more convincing? Okay, here’s some more  information

You Can Use it for Target Marketing

With social media, it is very easy to isolate and target people who are likely to buy your product. For instance, if you create and sell FOREX systems or eBooks, you can target FOREX groups littered all over Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other social media platforms. You can’t make the most out of your market without reaching new customers. But you are more likely to convert if the customers you reach are people who are likely to have an interest in your product. For this reason, you must use personalized campaigns to target the people most likely to buy. By doing this, you will position yourself to leverage your search and social media to capture the lion’s share of your market.

Before you can do target marketing, you must take out time to study your buyer personas and target market. When you know your ideal buyer persona, you will know where to find them.

You Can Increase Brand Awareness

With a large number of people across all the different social media platforms, you know you can give your brand the awareness it needs to grow. The truth is that people cannot but from you if they don’t know you exist. How will they know you? Through social media. You can create content, campaigns, and promos to get more people to hear from you and what you can offer. When you host live videos, people get to know you. When you organize contests, people share and repost them to inform their followers, you get exposure from their shares.

It Helps You Build Relationship with your Customer Base

Social media makes it possible for you to interact with your users, even when they are not on your business website. You can find out what their questions are, then you create posts that address those common questions. You can also interact with them and seek suggestions on how you can serve them better. By doing all of these, you will endear your product to their hearts and they will feel like they are part of the business. Such a feeling can make somebody a lifetime customer. And don’t forget that one satisfied customer can bring several other customers to you.

You Can Learn from Your Competitors

Nobody can know it all, even in business. Your competitors may know something you don’t, and they may be applying systems that work. To have a balanced marketing system, you can study and emulate the business models that are working for your competitors. From their marketing tactics, their ongoing campaigns to their interaction methods.

You can also discover the things they did that didn’t work for them. You can look to modify those things or avoid them totally to avoid making the same mistakes. With a clear idea of what works, you can focus your time and energy on tested and trusted models.

However, there is a need for uniqueness, don’t just be a copycat, there is always room for creativity. You can pick up general models and modify them to suit your business profile. Also, ensure that your contents are unique and fresh.

From the discussion so far, you should know by now that if you are not actively utilizing the social media platforms for your business, you are losing out big time. Don’t waste any more precious time, take the lead on social media marketing today.

Why you need to up your social media marketing game

Why you need to up your social media marketing game

Multi-channel marketing is key if you want your brand name to be put in front of a wide-reaching audience, but exactly which channels should you be targeting?

In today’s digital age there are so many options: TV, radio, podcasts, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, YouTube. It can be difficult to know which to focus your marketing budget on and, of course, tactics such as persona profiling should help to inform your decision to allow you to achieve the best possible results and insights from your campaign.

However, it’s also worth taking note of what your competitors are doing. You don’t want to fall behind with current marketing trends, but you don’t want to simply place yourself on an even playing field with them either; you need to take a look at what they’re doing and think about how you can promote your brand in a more creative and better targeted way.

Where are your competitors likely to be advertising?

According to statistics from the latest eMarketer forecast, social media will need to be a key focus for brands over the coming year, with the medium set to overtake TV advertising – which has traditionally been the biggest money-maker – in terms of spending.

It’s expected that marketing professionals in the UK will spend some £3.3 billion on social media advertising over the course of 2018, marking an increase of almost one-quarter (24 per cent) on how much they invested in promoting themselves via these channels last year.

If this trend continues over the next few years, eMarketer predicts that advertising via social networks will account for 20 per cent of all marketing spend in the UK by 2020. This means the medium will overtake TV advertising, which would comprise just 17.8 per cent of marketing investment in comparison.

Bill Fisher, UK senior analyst at eMarketer, explained that increased competition between the social networks – many of which are adding similar features – is helping to attract more investment from marketers.

“The result is a growing social media market, and one that advertisers are keen to utilise,” he commented.

“Media-rich targeting options, with video a particularly big play, make platforms like Snapchat and Instagram especially attractive.”

Which social channels should you use?

When deciding which social media channels to use to advertise your brand, you need to have a clear understanding of who your audience is and where their online activity is likely to take place. For example, if you want to target young students, LinkedIn, with its more corporate, professional feel, probably isn’t your best bet. Instead, you’d be wanting to use a platform with a younger user base, like Instagram or Snapchat.

Similarly, if you’re wanting to target business executives, while they might have a presence on Facebook and Instagram in their spare time, they’re most likely to consume professional online content via LinkedIn or perhaps Twitter.

It’s also important to consider the purpose of your campaign. Do you want to increase awareness of your brand and grow your online following? If so, an influencer-oriented campaign on YouTube or Instagram would be a good option to explore. Or would you like to get people to sign up to attend a networking event you’re hosting? LinkedIn and Facebook would be best for this.

Ultimately, it’s important to remember that you shouldn’t just do something because your competitors are; you need to make sure you’re standing out from the crowd in your own right.

Make social media marketing work for you

Make social media marketing work for you

The world is now online, and as such, businesses need to be too.

Social media is not only one of the most submerged places where brands can connect with consumers, but it’s also a cheap or even free marketing platform.

It’s not just a case of making accounts on your chosen platforms though. You need a strategy in place so that you can succeed.

One of the first things that you need to know is that success relies as much on listening as it does talking. In fact, this could be seen as even more important.

You need to know where your target audience is online

You need to know where your target audience is online. Find them and see what type of content it is that they’re engaging with. If, for example, you’re a financial business looking to communicate with professionals, you’ll find your target market on a platform such as LinkedIn, rather than Facebook.

Before you start to form your strategy you should make sure to do plenty of research. See what your competitors are doing; don’t copy them, or else you won’t stand out, but try and find a gap in the market. However, you can take ideas from them to build your strategy on.

When you’re ready and know the areas you want to focus on, then you can build your social media strategy. Don’t try and do everything; in order to build your brand you need a focus. You need to know who you’re targeting and with what types of content.

So, once you’re ready, it’s time to start producing content. One key thing to remember at this point is that quality is much more important than quantity. Think about it – if you create a few pieces of content that are highly engaging and informative, your brand will be much more memorable than if you create loads of content that users don’t engage with.

Try to make sure that you are producing high-quality content; you want to inform your target audience and build respect within your industry.

You can try lots of different types of content. As well as blog posts and news items, think about creating custom graphics, infographics and even video. Or, perhaps something interactive would work for your brand.

Success won’t happen overnight; it can be a fairly slow start until it all seems to click into place.

As well as sharing your own content, try to engage with consumers in other ways. Look for conversations that are happening on social media and get involved. It won’t work if you just go in with an aggressive sales strategy though; you need to consider social media as more of a place to grow your brand. The financial benefits will come from this.

If you’re considered a respected and informed brand within your industry, then you’ll create a connection with your consumers. Then, not only do you have a one-off customer, but a relationship with someone who will come back to you again and again.

As long as you plan efficiently and stay on top of it then social media marketing really isn’t difficult. Get online and give it a go!
